THE LOURA LURE (Book 1 of the Trilogy) was released on February 2nd, 2024. This first work can best be described as Urban fantasy given its setting in present day Ottawa, the capital of Canada. Throughout this first book, the reader is enticed by the promise of both Portal and Epic Fantasy waiting just beyond the precipice of a great leap of faith.
Dr. Shamus Bergin is a freshly minted psychologist who lands an opportunity to work in the Secure Treatment Unit of a mental hospital. This young doctor must face the challenge of his career soon after beginning work with a patient whom all other clinicians have dismissed as a hopeless case- a nameless amnesiac who defies clinical diagnosis, and whose backstory raises more questions than answers. When the patient suddenly discloses that he is a member of an angel-human hybrid warrior society who has time- travelled from the past to find the last living angel, Shamus will have to decide whether to help the inmate, or dismiss what he has been told as the ramblings of a person who belongs in the secure treatment environment he finds himself in.
Defying all logic, a pattern of events supporting the narrative of his patient become undeniable. Shamus will be forced to decide to either take the greatest leap of faith imaginable or walk away and potentially become responsible for ushering in a darkness that his entire family may have been invested in combatting for countless generations.
THE LOURA LURE, Book 2; THE AWAKENING was released on April 25th, 2025 at 2 separate author events in Ireland, in the first week of May, followed by the North American launch on May 17th, 2025 at Indigo Bookstore (Canada's largest book retailer) in Ottawa, Canada.
This Portal Fantasy rapidly evolves into an Epic Adventure Fantasy tale. The reader will be invited to imagine an ancient civilization which thrived thousands of years before the Egyptian, Greek and Roman empires had come of age.

The Awakening follows the journey of Shamus Bergin and his former patient, Erladoch the Brave of Fior Hill as they travel 20,000 years backward in time to an erased history known as The Age of Loura. In this altered landscape of western Europe (as it appeared before the seas rose up to seperate Ireland and the British Isles from the continent), the companions will encounter all manner of perils in their rush to find a safe haven in a landscape already beset with invasion. Shamus will have to find a way to reunite Erladoch with his brethren in the Sacred Order of Keepers so that a report of the disappointing outcome of his mission can be delivered, and so that plans can be put in motion to combat the invasionary force already unleashed by Enilorac, the Dead King of Treborg. Surprise revelations will reinvigorate hope for the Keepers in their ongoing efforts to combat the army of darkness, but only if Shamus can find a way to persevere both mentally and physically. With each passing day, a voice grows within him while he struggles to solve the mysteries of his birthright, the true fate of his parents, and most importantly, the compulsion of a phantom woman whose summons to him across the Dreamscape grows ever stronger.
THE LOURA LURE, Book 3, RISE OF THE ANGEL is scheduled for release in early 2026. This final chapter in the LOURA LURE trilogy chronicles the closing days of the Age of Loura. This portion of the tale is fully Epic Adventure Fantasy which tells of a land and people that actually may have looked something akin to what the author describes.
Humanity now stands at the brink of annihilation from Satan's army lead by his earthbound proxy, Enilorac of Treborg. His legions are systematically overunning the Louran kingdoms with orders to locate and kill a small band of Keepers led by Shamus and Erladoch before they can re-animate Anthrac Aran. Only the angel knows the hiding place of the most powerful weapon on Earth, the Heavenly Itavo Stone, and he must be brought back to life while there's still time to wield the weapon's power against the army of darkness.
With Shamus Bergin's unique position in the world finally revealed to him, he will have to choose what sacrifices will have to be made to fulfill not only his and his comrades' destinies, but also ensure the survival of the newly found love of his life, Caitlin Dunlevan. With great magic comes immense responsibility. As the war between the forces of Good versus Evil draws to a breathless conclusion, Shamus will have to accept that he cannot have it all.
